Transcutaneous Energy Transmission Based Wireless Energy Transfer To Implantable Biomedical Devices
نویسندگان
چکیده
Transcutaneous energy transmission (TET) plays an important role in providing power to implantable biomedical devices such as total artificial heart and heart assist devices through wireless power transmission. The system can provide a power varying from 5-15W. The paper deals with certain challenges like i) temperature rise due to power loss which may have direct effects on the skin. ii) positioning of external and internal coils which may also disturb the operation. It also deals with methods of optimal power transfer capabilities with considerably high transmission efficiency thereby decreasing the losses.

Energy efficiency and reliability are widely understood to be one of the dominant considerations for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs). In this paper, in order to maintain energy efficiency and reliability in a UWSN, Cuckoo Optimization Algorithm (COA) is adopted that is a combination of three techniques of geo-routing, multi-path routing, and Duty-Cycle mechanism. In the proposed alg...

Acoustic energy transfer is a promising energy harvesting technology candidate for implantable biomedical devices. However, it does not show competitive strength for enabling self-powered implantable biomedical devices due to two issues - large size of bulk piezoelectric ultrasound transducers and output power fluctuation with transferred distance due to standing wave. Here we report a microele...
